Helping The Fire Victims

I am very proud of the way our community has come together to support the victims of this tragedy. I am in Thailand heading for Cambodia, but want to be part of the effort. I have seen that any number of people have donated services and whatnot where all proceeds go to the victims. I would like to do something like this. As a lawyer, this can be challenging. A new car accident campaign, for example, has a tacky ring to it. My other areas of practice, immigration and bankruptcy, also do not lend themselves well to a broad based appeal. As it is not tax season that does not work either, although I could do the victims taxes for free. I have given this considerable thought. I will write simple wills for $100, all proceeds (100%) donated to the victims. I will post a thank you on FaceBook for anyone who has a will done and allows me to post the “thank you”, so as to verify. If the will is not simple, we may have to discuss the appropriate donation, but it will all be for the victims. My office is open, so people can come in now. However, It might not be until after I return that these get finished. For now, I will limit this to the next thirty days (say until August 15, 2014), although I am sure that if someone comes in later in August, I will still do it.
