I had a new immigration client come in and I needed the tax returns of her and her husband. She had her taxes done at Jackson Hewitt. It was a rather straightforward return. There was only W-2 income and no house or investment property. Jackson Hewitt charged her $226.00. It is a return for which I typically charge $90.00.
I have been running a promotion for quite some time advising people who have their taxes prepared by H&R Block, Liberty Tax Service, Jackson Hewitt, or by any CPA or lawyer to come and see me. I promise to charge my regular price or 50% of their price, whichever is less. With only two exceptions, both of which were special cases, and in both cases it was close, my price has been less than half of their price. Here is yet another example. In this case I charge 40% of what Jackson Hewitt charged for the exact same return.
