What to do after an Injury in Massachusetts
The first few weeks after an accident often decide how smoothly a claim goes. Here is what we tell our clients.
Get appropriate medical care
Seek medical attention for your injuries and follow your providers’ recommendations. Keep your appointments and make sure your symptoms and treatment are properly documented.
Report what happened
Depending on the type of accident, this may mean notifying the police, a property owner, an employer, or another responsible party. Keep copies of any reports or other documentation.
Preserve evidence
Take photos or videos of the location, conditions that contributed to the accident, your injuries, and any property damage. Save relevant documents and contact information for witnesses.
Keep records
Save medical bills, treatment information, correspondence, receipts, and documentation of time missed from work.
